History:

Though commonly associated with Ancient Rome, it is believed that aqueducts were originally utilized by the Minoans in the year 2000 BC. Roman aqueducts were bridges made of brick, concrete or stone that transported water from its source to towns and cities for various purposes. Roman aqueducts were especially well built, and some are still used today.
